The Center for Neuronal Regeneration (CNR) has First Annual Expert Meeting, and Evimed is Official Technology Partner (October 23-25, 2011)
World renowned neuroscientists and bioinformatic scientists came together at the first international CNR expert meeting in Düsseldorf, Germany, in order to share and exchange ideas on ways to develop the knowledge database containing therapeutic trials for spinal cord and brain trauma injuries as well as neurodegenerative disease. The CNR is an independent interdisciplinary research center that aims to collect and offer a global scientific knowledge database for, specifically, preclinical therapeutic approaches to help neuroscientists develop innovative and more promising therapies for SCI injuries as well as for diseases such as Alzheimers and Multiple Sclerosis.
CNR is supported by public and private supporters and particularly, the “Alliance of Hope” foundation that was initiated by former German champion gymnast, Ronny Ziesmer. He became parapalegic after a sports accident in preparation for the 2000 Olympic Games and continues to dedicate himself to raise international public awareness and raise funds for the cause. Dr. Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, is also a patron of the Alliance of Hope.
Aside from the tremendous and most important impact, which is humanitarian, the research and support from the CNS will significantly improve the socio-economic burden of those injured and suffering from spinal cord injury and neurodegenerative diseases. Over 500,000 patients suffer from chronic parapeligia in industrial countries and medical and care-costs are estimated to be over 500-1,000 billion Euro per year. Not only will the quality of life of the patient improve with better medical treatments, it could also reduce nursing care costs by up to 50-100 billion Euro.

In partnership, the Trial Management system helps study leaders manage their trials, all trial centers and patient recruitment. The Trial Operator helps study nurses optimize patient recruitment within their own center.
Evimed's technology is also scalable and flexible as we created and launched several customized and innovative medical IT applications and projects. The website www.brustkrebs-studien.de, a portal for patients to search for open breast cancer trials has been relaunched and Evimed proudly serves as the technology partner. Evimed also specializes in smartphone application technology and created the iphone apps for BKS and the AGO, physicians will now have convenient ways of accessing, saving and forwarding information about gynecologic open trials.

A lot of resources been invested to improve the services offered by the BKS and this has been done in a cooperative partnership between the DGS and EviMed. In order to improve the functionality and benefits of the BKS, central functions of the new version, launched at the DGS annual meeting in June 2011, are based on the EviMed technology platform for recruitment and management of clinical trials.
